教学目标

1. Knowledge Objects:Master the usage of some new words and sentence pattern, and understand the usages of passive voice in past tense.

2. Ability Objects:Be able to describe one thing simply under the help of teacher.

3. Moral Objects: Learn about the history of inventions, and foster the interest in the science.

重点

 The structure of passive voice in past tense was / were + v. pp.

难点

1. Try to talk about the history of inventions using the target language: When was it invented? Where was it invented? What is it used for?

2. Learn to talk about the inventions using the passive voice.

教学用具

a tape recorder, multimedia, pictures, bingo cards

授课环节

Step 1 Leading in 

1. Show some pictures about different things in the trade fair.

2. Learn the new words: gold, silver, bamboo, steel, glass, cotton.

Step 2 Practice

Play a game: Bingo

1.Teacher call out the name of an object.

2.You circle the materials that this object could be made of. (Each time you can only circle one answer.)

3.When you has circled all six materials on your card, you will shout “Bingo”.

4.The first student to shout “Bingo” is the winner.

Step 3 Presentation and Practice

1a  Look at the picture. Present the target languages.

(1)—Is it made of steel?

—No. It is made of gold.

—Was it made in Thailand?

—Yes. It was made in Thailand.

(2)Are they made from cotton?

No. They are made from wood.

Were they made in Japan?

No. They were made in Korea.

Step 4 Listening

3. According to the different situations shown on the PPT, Students make their own conversations.

(1)Is tea famous in China?

   Yes. China is famous for tea, both in the past and now.

(2)Where is tea produced?

   It's produced in many different areas. For example, Anxi and Hangzhou are widely known for their tea.

(3)Why do people like tea?

  Because tea is good for both health and business.

2. Read and fill in the blanks.

Work in group. Share one of the gifts you want to give to others, talking about what it is made of/from, where it was made, how it is made and why you want to give it to him/her.

  Sample:

This is a ___________. I want to gave it to my teacher as a gift  

for the Teachers' Day. It's made of wood. It feels hard and it looks lovely. It was made in America. I think it's useful for my teacher.

通过多媒体展示展览会上琳琅满目的物品, 引导学生复习巩固相关单词。
